Mirror Pair of Meiji Period Satsuma Cobalt Blue ground Vases (signed). On offer a pair of (late) Meiji period Satsuma vases in the European style, depicting aristocrats on a cobalt blue ground with gold accents. Both have a red and gold matching signature to the base. Condition: Both have various areas of rubbing to the gold decoration. There is far less rubbing to the panels than the cobalt blue areas and both are in found-condition and are uncleaned (I wouldn’t know how to). Unfortunately one has suffered a double break to one handle and has been glued (not by myself). This being said, these are still fine examples. I have given both a close examination and cannot find any other chips, cracks or losses, but please do study the photographs for confirmation. More photos are avalible on request. Sizes: 21.5 cms or 8 1/2 inches in height. 14 cms or 5 1/2 inches (handle to handle). 650 grams or 1 1/2 llbs each in weight. Please also if you find any of our description is false or incorrect please let us know- Every day is a school day! All Items are as described- researched, attributed and correct to the best of our ability. Any faults will be clearly highlighted, measured and photographed.
